The project consists of equipping and supplying the technology necessary for the traffic management center, installing over 200 permanent traffic sensors, and gathering and integrating data from about 3,000 locations throughout the city within the new monitoring system. The system consists of integration of different technologies for detecting vehicles, with radar systems, loops, video cameras, and weighing systems.
All of these systems communicate with the Traffic Data Center of the Kuwaiti Municipality with an advanced traffic data management system, which will, in turn, make these, available to different public bodies responsible for the city’s traffic and mobility, or for those, which may be affected, such as maintenance teams, emergency services, police, etc. The system will also provide citizens with information to help them choose their routes.
